RENARD

We are delighted to present and offer ‘Renard’, a fox in bronze by French artist Erol.

RENARD by Erol

French sculptor Erol, originally an engineer, has created a series of animal sculptures using digital applications. Technology is an essential component of all his creations. Erol invents his own mathematical computer applications to express his universe – his simplistic presentation in this instance but one that still conveys a powerful message.

Artwork details:

Bronze

The fox’s body is an earthy orangey-brown bronze and the end of the tail, the inside of the ears, mouth and chest in a polished gold bronze – echoing what would normally be white on a real life fox.

83 × 51 × 30 cm

15 kg in weight

We’re appalled that despite overwhelming public opposition and laws against it, fox hunting still takes place here in the UK. The ban is entering its 18th year, so why is it still happening?

Let’s bust some myths! Hunting with hounds is NOT necessary for controlling the fox population. Foxes are NOT dangerous to humans or domestic pets. Chasing an animal to the point of exhaustion and allowing a pack of hounds to rip it apart, is inhumane. ‘In the name of sport’!

In this instance, we are raising funds, in part, to donate to a guest charity the Save Me Trust, an animal welfare organisation that exists to protect wild animals in the UK. Save Me is spearheaded by legendary guitarist, song writer and astrophysicist Dr. Brian May.
